When people think about booking a photographer while travelling, they often think about the photographs first.
And of course, photographs matter. They help us return to a feeling, a season of life, a place we once loved. But often, what stays with us even longer is something less expected: a human encounter that quietly becomes part of the memory itself.
You may remember trips where one local person changed the atmosphere of the whole day. A waiter who treated you with genuine kindness. A baker who smiled and handed you something warm from the oven. A sweet old lady working at a petrol station on a Greek island, moving with calm confidence, helping everyone with warmth despite not sharing a common language.
Someone who made you feel welcome, seen, cared for.
And somehow, they became part of how you remember that place.
A Photo Session Can Feel Like That Too
Many trips become a race without meaning to. We want to see everything, fit in every landmark, walk every street, make the most of every hour. Sometimes we come home with hundreds of images on our phones, yet with the feeling that we never truly slowed down enough to be there.
A photo session can offer something different.
Not something stiff or rushed. Not another task to complete. But a moment to soften the pace and become present again.
To walk through a beautiful city without hurry. To notice what is around you. To notice each other, if you are travelling as a couple. To laugh, breathe, reconnect, and enjoy where you are instead of racing past it.
You leave not only with photographs, but with the feeling that this part of your trip was genuinely lived.
Why I Love Photographing in Helsinki
Helsinki has a rare balance that I deeply appreciate. It is spacious, yet intimate. Calm, yet full of character. Beautifully designed, yet close to nature.
You can find sea views, elegant architecture, quiet streets, lively corners, parks, forests, islands, modern lines and old details — often within a short distance of each other. There are places here to slow down, and places to feel energy again. It is a city where many different people can find something that feels like their own.
It is also a city where it is easy to breathe.
You rarely feel swallowed by noise or crowds. You do not feel like an ant in a giant machine. There is space around you, and often space within you too.
I love this city, and I always hope those who visit leave with a warm aftertaste of their time here.
My Way of Working
Almost everyone tells me in some way that they feel awkward in front of the camera. That is completely normal.
My role is not to judge, pressure or force anything. It is to create a space where you can relax into yourselves and feel at ease.
Sometimes I work quietly and simply observe. Sometimes I bring humour, movement and lightness when it helps tension disappear. I guide gently, without making you perform.
Many people tell me afterwards that the session felt unexpectedly grounding — almost like a small reset in the middle of a busy life or a busy trip.
We often part not as strangers, but with the warmth of people who genuinely shared a moment.
That is usually when the most beautiful photographs happen.
Polina very friendly and kind, we got great experience and memory while we shooting with her. Polina let us feel free to be ourself and she can snap us in our happiness moment. Polina help us to suggest to walk, post or dancing. She understand that we are not like a professional model. Polina also caring us about what we wear and the weather>< may not suitable and could make us sick. Also suggest the place and be our mini guide tour. She also explain about where we shooting. Really appreciate and glad to met her.
