Choosing Each Other Again — A Different Kind of Wedding Story

(Wedding photography in Helsinki & beyond)

One of my biggest fans wrote this to me recently. Someone I’ve photographed over the years — their family, their life.

Sometimes when I see the results of your shoots it's sad we are already married!"

What he meant was simple. He loves what they have, he loves their story, and he loves their wedding photos. At the same time, he also loves the way I see and capture people now, it resonates, and it made me thinking..

Because their wedding was beautiful. The way it happened, the way they chose it, the way it felt — it was right for them at that time. Their photos are part of that story, and they carry it exactly as it is. Nothing needs to be changed or replaced.

But life doesn’t stay in one moment.

You move forward. You go through things together. You grow into a different version of yourselves — still you, but with more layers, more shared history, more quiet understanding.

And sometimes, without any particular reason, a simple idea appears: why not mark this moment too?

Not as a correction and not as a comparison. Just because you can.

For some, it becomes a vow renewal. For others, an anniversary session. And sometimes it’s simply a quiet, intentional moment together. With guests or without, with children around or just the two of you. In Helsinki or somewhere that carries meaning for you.

There are no expectations here. What matters is the intention — to acknowledge where you are now and to give space to what your relationship has become.

Photography is not about recreating the past. It’s about noticing the present. The way you stand closer without thinking, the way you look at each other now, the ease and familiarity that only time can create.

Life itself becomes a reason to capture it from time to time. Not because something is missing, but because something is there.

Photography itself has changed over time, too. What we see today is not exactly what it was ten or twenty years ago — or even five. In some places it has evolved, in others it has stayed more traditional. Some photographers work more boldly, others more classically.

There is no single right way. What matters is choosing what resonates with you.

And if you feel drawn to the way I see people, to the way I work and create space, then you know where to find me.
